Checkered Flag Racing and Devon Sandeen Victorious At Woodbine |

Chilliwack, BC. - October 6, 2006 - British Columbia resident and Checkered Flag Racing (CFR) pilot Devon Sandeen scored another victory in the Stars of Karting Presented by the Indy Racing League finale at the temporary Woodbine circuit in Toronto, Ontario. With the win, Sandeen secured the second position in the Spec Racer national point standings.
After qualifying on the front row with fellow First Kart pilot Eric Gerrits, the British Columbia resident went on to score a first, second and third throughout the heat races to garner the pole position for the feature event. Needing to beat East coast champion Brandon Adkins, Sandeen showed he had the speed all weekend long. The CFR pilot jumped out to an early lead in the final as he and Gerrits began to pull away from the rest of the field. What looked to be a two horse race changed to one, as Gerrits dropped out of contention with a mechanical failure leaving Sandeen to race to the checkers by himself.
The Checkered Flag Racing pilot ended the event leading all 18 laps and finishing 11.459 seconds ahead of his closest rival. Sandeen also had the quickest lap of the twisty Woodbine circuit at a 42.963 but came just shy of the national title.
It is such a great feeling to win this prestigious event,-explained Sandeen from the track. I couldn’t have done it without my friend, engine builder and tuner George Fellner. He has been at every event helping me along the way and if it was not for him, I likely would not be racing this year. I would also like thank all the guys from First Kart for their help and support throughout this racing season.
In his first year of national competition, Sandeen had a season to remember. The talented pilot scored four Stars of Karting victories and numerous podiums that he can now add to his racing resume.
